G.D. Vajra, Moscato d'Asti, Piedmont, Italy 2024

G.D. Vajra is one of our Somm's favorite producers. Everything they make is special, but the Moscato is proof of how delicious sweet wines can be. In this one the sweetness and slight effervescence you expect of Moscato are there but with enough acidity to keep it from being cloying or syrupy. Ripe peaches, apricots, and tropical of fruits with a hint of florals.

Rosé Wines

Cirelli, Ceresuolo d'Abruzzo Rosato, Abruzzo, Italy, 2022

Cirelli is a very special wine to us. A fellow Mississippi Sommelier from Jackson, MS fell in love with this wine in Abruzzo and a cooperative of the wine community in Mississippi worked together to bring it into the state including our own Sommelier. This richer style of Rosé is bright with notes of berries and a touch of minerality. This is the perfect wine for warm weather or the patio.

Chilled Reds

Laurent Perrachon, Gamay, Julienas, Beaujolais, France, 2022

Laurent Perrachon has been operating since 1877, and is currently in its 7th generation of family operation. They know a few things about how to make an amazing wine. Gamay is like if Pinot Noir had a slight savory/spice note to it that made it a perfect pairing for charcuterie.

House of Brown, Red Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon-Pinot Noir-Tempranillo, Lodi, California, 2022

Our Sommelier discovered this producer while at a wine conference. Two of the most familiar red grape varieties (Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon) are joined by a traditionally Spanish grape (Tempranillo) to give you the best of all three. Light bodied, but with really lush fruit and a touch of spice. It's floral with pure red fruit notes, and is perfect alongside a Meat Lover's Flatbread.

Franco Serra, Nebbiolo, Langhe, Piedmont, Italy, 2021

This winery had humble beginnings, and started purely because the then head of the Sperone family didn't like the quality or price of the local wines of Puglia and decided to make wine himself. The winery unfortunately didn't survive the WWII, but found a new home in Milan and eventually in Piedmont. Nebbiolo is one of our Sommelier's favorite grape varieties. It's acidic and bright and medium bodied but is dry and grippy and structured. It's amazing with charcuterie or any rich cheese, but also perfect with our Italian Flatbread.

Dessert Wines

Kopke Fine Tawny Port, Traditional Blend, Porto, Portugal

Kopke is the oldest Port house, founded in 1638. Tawny ports are fortified wines, meaning that a neutral spirit was added to the wine during production making this a bit boozier than a typical glass of wine. Tawny ports go through a bit of oak aging and are like if you added some of the notes of Bourbon to a red wine. This Port is sweet with notes of honeyed plums and vanilla. Perfect for dessert or for the drinkers that enjoy that bit of sweetness to a wine.
